If you maintain these parts of your pump truck properly, it will feel like you've bought a brand new pump truck every year!

Concrete pump trucks are among the most popular pieces of machinery in the concrete construction industry. They are highly efficient and indispensable on construction sites. However, due to prolonged and high-intensity operation, pump trucks are prone to various wear and tear and malfunctions.

Concrete pump trucks are among the most popular pieces of machinery in the concrete construction industry. They are highly efficient and indispensable on construction sites. However, due to prolonged and high-intensity operation, pump trucks are prone to various wear and tear and malfunctions. Therefore, regular maintenance is crucial, especially the maintenance of core components and critical parts! Now, we will introduce maintenance tips for several key parts to help you keep your pump truck looking new for years to come.

✅1. Grease Pump

Before each start-up and after each pumping operation, thoroughly clean the entire vehicle. Then check and ensure the grease pump reservoir is full of grease. Observe the agitator bearing and the large and small shaft ends of the S-tube; if clean grease overflows from these areas, the pump is ready. During operation, keep the lubrication system clean, preventing dust and other impurities from entering, and avoid contact with acidic or alkaline substances. Clean the system every 500 hours of operation.

✅2. Swing Valve Cylinders

Each of the two swing valve cylinder seats has a grease fitting. During operation, the pump truck should be greased every 5-10 days using the grease fitting, depending on the actual working conditions, to ensure normal vehicle operation. Grease must be added to the lubrication tank through the designated grease fitting. It is recommended to use genuine, clean, and uncontaminated EP 1 (1#) extreme pressure lithium-based grease for pumping. Compared to thinner "000" or "00" greases, it stays in the lubrication area better and is less likely to be squeezed out or lost.

✅3. Pressure Regulator

The pressure regulator (with pressure gauge) in the system is factory set to 6 bar. The pressure can be adjusted appropriately according to actual conditions, but generally, it is not allowed to increase the pressure further to protect the lifespan of related components. If a problem occurs in the system, first check if the pressure gauge shows 6 bar, then disconnect the air hose and check if compressed air is escaping from the hose (accompanied by exhaust sound).

✅4. Maintenance of Boom, Outriggers, and Turntable

Grease fittings are specifically designed at the hinge points of each boom section, the connecting shafts between the four outriggers and their supports, and the turntable. These lubrication points (grease fittings) should typically be lubricated every 10-15 days. Lubrication should be thorough until grease overflows.

✅5. Rotary Gear Reducer

Change the gear oil in the rotary gear reducer every 500 working hours. Additionally, apply grease to all gear surfaces in the rotary gear reducer every 3 months. If dirt is found on the gear surfaces during inspection, remove it immediately to prevent damage to the gears, resulting in downtime and repair costs. It should be noted that the slewing bearing should be lubricated weekly using a grease gun through the grease fitting. If any nuts or bolts used for fastening are found to be loose, they should be replaced immediately, and work should not continue to prevent accidents.
